Bulk Dried Ginger, Cut & Sifted

As a preventative health measure, I've been chewing on organic dried ginger, cut and sifted. It’s very intense, but easy to carry around and nibble on. And it clears away any feeling of congestion very well. Available in Bulk spices. – Nicolas, Bulk buyer

Grandma Ida's Coffee Cake

Ingredients
3 cups white flour
2 cups brown sugar, loosely packed
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup softened butter
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
ground cinnamon (optional)

Method
Mix the first five dry ingredients together in a bowl. Cut in the softened butter. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture (crumbs) for the top. Beat into the bowl of dry ingredients and butter - eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour mixture into a 9 x 12 baking pan. Sprinkle crumbs on top, and if desired, sprinkle cinnamon over the crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Enjoy warm for breakfast.

Notes: Can substitute 3 cups of whole wheat pastry flour for the 3 cups of white flour. Also, try mixing chopped organic apples into the batter before pouring it into the baking pan. They add more moisture and another flavor to this coffee cake. Organic blueberries, organic peaches, organic strawberries and rhubarb, or any other fruits would also be a good addition.
